Katy McDougal

Katy began ceramics in 1993. Her work is primarily focused in printmaking and clay. Katy’s work is about nature and how it reflects her feelings of femininity. Her forms are the canvas in which metaphors of seasonal changes in nesting and comfort can be explored.  Each piece is fired multiple times, and usually incorporating glass and vintage ceramic decals.

Katy has been a working studio potter since 2003 while teaching both adults and children in the community. She currently lives with her husband, daughter, and two dirty dogs while trying to find balance between work and play.
